Connection Warm Up Activity: RAMP protocol with dynamic movements mimicking animal actions.
Body of Lesson: Students will engage in a Zuu session, focusing on movements like bear crawls, frog jumps, and monkey swings to improve agility and coordination.
Fun Finisher Challenge Activities: Create a short Zuu-inspired movement sequence to share with the class.
End of Lesson Reflective Activity: Thumbs-up/thumbs-down reflection on their comfort level with Zuu movements.
Year Level: Year 12
Subject: Physical Education
Unit: Community Fitness Fun (Lesson 3 of 6)
Lesson Duration: 60 minutes

This lesson aligns with the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education – Senior Years (Year 11 & 12):
This lesson also supports General Capabilities such as personal & social capability by encouraging collaboration and self-reflection, and critical & creative thinking by creating movement sequences.
Students will perform animal-inspired movements from Zuu training to enhance agility, coordination, and strength.
✅ I can demonstrate various Zuu animal movements with correct form
✅ I can explain how these movements improve agility, coordination, and fitness
✅ I can reflect on my experience using the PMI method (Positives, Minuses, and Interesting points)
Students will complete a warm-up following the RAMP Protocol (Raise, Activate, Mobilise, Potentiate). This will introduce animal-like movement patterns in a progressive sequence.
Students will engage in Zuu training, a bodyweight-only workout inspired by primal animal movements that develop cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, and mobility.
Teacher's Role:
✔ Provide demonstrations with cues such as “low and controlled” for Bear Crawls
✔ Give real-time feedback and encourage peer evaluation
✔ Ensure students maintain correct body alignment for safety
Students will work in pairs to design a 30-second Zuu-inspired movement sequence, combining at least three of the movements they have learned.
⭐ Challenge: Each pair will perform their routine while classmates offer feedback on areas of strength and improvement.
To wrap up, students will reflect on their experience using two activities:
👍 Thumbs-up – Comfortable and confident in movements
👎 Thumbs-down – Found movements challenging and need improvement
Using their notebooks or group discussion, students will complete:
✔ Observation checklist – Teacher records student participation and form in movements
✔ Peer feedback – Students provide input on Zuu-inspired routines
✔ PMI reflections – Used to assess student understanding and engagement
