The 5-Step Problem-Solving Process

Step 1 & 2: Identify and Brainstorm
Step 1: What exactly is the problem? Be specific and clear about what's wrong Step 2: Think of ALL possible solutions Don't judge ideas yet - just brainstorm!

Practice Time: Scenario Challenge
Work in pairs with your scenario card Use steps 1-2 to identify the problem and brainstorm solutions Share your ideas with the class Remember: All ideas are welcome!

Steps 3, 4 & 5: Choose, Try, and Reflect
Step 3: Pick the best solution for your situation Step 4: Put your plan into action Step 5: Think about how it worked What would you do differently next time?
