What is Texture?
Texture is how something feels when you touch it It's also how something looks like it would feel Nature is full of amazing textures! We can describe textures with special words

Texture Detective Activity
Look at the natural objects on your table Touch them carefully and describe how they feel Use texture words: rough, smooth, bumpy, soft, hard, prickly Share your discoveries with your partner

Texture Techniques
Rubbing - place paper over textured objects and rub with crayon Stamping - use natural objects or bubble wrap to print textures Layering - glue materials like string or fabric for raised textures Imprinting - press objects into clay or playdough

Create Your Textured Nature Art
Choose 2-3 natural textures to recreate Select your materials and techniques Create your textured artwork Experiment with layering and combining methods Remember to show at least 3 different textures
