Aboriginal People - The First Australians
Lived in Australia for over 60,000 years Deep connection to the land and sea Traditional hunting, fishing, and gathering Faced major changes when Europeans arrived
Convicts - Prisoners from Britain
Sent to Australia as punishment for crimes Lived in basic huts and worked hard every day Built roads, buildings, and cleared land Could earn freedom through good behavior
Marines - The Soldiers and Guards
Protected the colony and kept order Wore red uniforms and carried muskets Lived in better conditions than convicts Some brought families from Britain
Free Settlers - Choosing a New Life
Came to Australia by choice, not as prisoners Brought money, skills, and sometimes servants Started farms, shops, and businesses Had the most freedom and opportunities
