Lesson Structure (40 minutes)

1. Warm-up and Introduction (5 minutes)

• Greet the class in Gaeilge: “Dia dhuit!”
• Explain the lesson objective simply: “Inniu foghlaimeoimid focail nua faoi sa bhaile - rooms agus rudaí sa teach.”
• Activate prior knowledge: Ask a few questions in English - “What rooms are there in your house? Can you name some furniture?” Transition into Gaeilge by giving simple examples: “An seomra suí - the sitting room,” “An leaba - the bed.”

2. Introducing Vocabulary (10 minutes)

• Use flashcards with clear pictures and the Irish word on the back.
• Teacher shows the picture, pronounces the word clearly (e.g., An cistin, An seomra leapa, An troscán, An cathaoir). Students repeat chorally.
• Play a short audio recording of the vocabulary for clear pronunciation input.
• Drill pronunciation again with students individually or in pairs.
• Write key words on the whiteboard as they are introduced.

3. Interactive Vocabulary Matching Game (10 minutes)

• Divide class into small groups of 3-4.
• Distribute shuffled cards: picture cards face-up on table, word cards face-down.
• Students take turns flipping a word card and trying to match it with the correct picture card.
• When matched, the student says the word/sentence aloud, e.g., “Seo an seomra suí.” Teacher and classmates confirm.

4. Pair Work: Simple Sentence Practice (10 minutes)
