Lesson Sequence

Introduction (5 minutes)

• Teacher Greeting: Greet the class in French and introduce today’s theme: "Les émotions."
• Engage Students: Begin with a quick discussion in English about how students feel today. Introduce that they will learn how to express these feelings in French.

Vocabulary Presentation (10 minutes)

• Visual & Audio Presentation: Show flashcards one by one with corresponding images of emotions and pronounce each word in French.

Practice Activity (10 minutes)

• Charades Game: Divide the class into four groups with six students each. One student from each group acts out an emotion, and the rest guess the emotion using the French vocabulary.
• Worksheet Activity: Students complete a matching worksheet that pairs French vocabulary with images of corresponding emotions.

Conclusion (5 minutes)

• Sentence Building: Encourage students to build simple sentences using the new vocabulary: "Je suis [emotion]."
• Class Participation: Go around the room and have each student express how they feel using the phrase they just learned.
