Teaching Instructions

Task one is an animal bingo matching game during which small groups of 4-6 students will participate. Each student will have a bingo card with 4-8 images of signs for different animals. Spread out in front of the students will be cards with images of the different animals, the teacher will sign an animal (e.g. horse) and then the student with this sign on their bingo sheet will find the corresponding animal card and place it on their bingo sheet covering the image of the sign. The teacher will then encourage all students to repeat the sign for horse and then move on to calling the next animal. This game can have a winner – the student who covers all their bingo card first or the game can go until all students have filled their cards with no winner. When students know how to play the game they can take turns being the caller and the teacher no longer needs to be involved.
