Students attend to the weakest part of their sculpture, improve its construction and visual finish, then explain to a partner which detail now demonstrates craftsmanship. No adhesives are used.

  5. 42–50 min · Three-distance test. Teacher directs students to complete a stability and visual-impact test from close, middle and far viewing distances, recording observations on the stability and visual-impact test sheet. Students test whether the sculpture stands unaided for one minute, consider its shadow and silhouette, and note how negative space and mass affect what a viewer notices or understands.

  6. 50–56 min · Final structural revision. Teacher asks students to prioritise one final change supported by their test evidence and checks safe tool use, clear workspaces and no sharp exposed wire ends. Students make the revision, retest the structure and complete a before-and-after photograph or sketch, noting what changed and why.

  7. 56–60 min · Photograph and self-assessment. Teacher displays the reflection prompt through the plenary and reflection slides and photographs completed works from a consistent angle. Students photograph their sculpture, complete the self-assessment on the reflection section, and respond: “What revision most improved the sculpture’s stability or communication, and what evidence supports your judgement?”
