Use the discussion and misconception-check slides to revisit the key idea: water is abundant globally, but usable freshwater is limited and unevenly distributed. Prompt students to improve the statement “There is lots of water, so there cannot be shortages” by adding evidence.
43–45 minutes – Exit check Students complete the final three prompts on the exit reflection: draw or name the three states, give one Aotearoa example, and explain one reason water shortages can occur. Collect responses to plan the next lesson on movement and change in the water cycle.
