Entry Routines - How We Start Each Day
Walk in quietly and go straight to your seat Take out notebook and pen immediately Start the Do-Now activity (5 minutes of silent work) Raise hand and say 'present' during attendance Participate in classroom reflection after Do-Now

Our Five Core Expectations
1. Respect everyone - Listen when others speak, no interrupting or mocking 2. Be ready to learn - Bring materials, start work immediately 3. Follow directions the first time - Stay focused and on task 4. Participate - Try your best, ask questions at the right time 5. Speak and act responsibly - Words matter in this class

Devices and Phones Policy
Devices away unless teacher gives permission No unauthorized device use during lessons If visible during class, device will be collected for the period Focus on learning, not screens

Practice: Attention Signal
Let's practice our attention routine: Teacher says: 'Eyes on me' Students respond: 'Eyes on you' Everyone stops talking and looks at teacher Ready to listen and learn

Asking Questions and Participation
Wait for designated question time Raise your hand and wait to be called Do not interrupt others who are speaking All questions are welcome when asked appropriately Active participation helps everyone learn

Movement and Behavior in Class
Stay in your seat unless given permission Ask before leaving your seat for any reason Be where you are supposed to be Move quickly and quietly during transitions Respect the learning space

Communication Rules
One person speaks at a time Listen actively when others are sharing Respect others' ideas and opinions Wait your turn to contribute Use appropriate language and tone

Consequences - What Happens When Expectations Aren't Met
First: Verbal warning and reminder Second: Name recorded and formal warning Third: Seat change or detention Continued issues: Referral and further action Goal is always to get back on track quickly

When You Finish Early
Stay in your seat quietly Review and improve your work Read silently (novel or other appropriate material) Do not disturb others who are still working Use time productively for English learning

Assignment and Late Work Policy
Submit all work on time as scheduled Late work may have consequences - communicate early if there's an issue Talk to me before the due date if you're having problems I'm here to support your success Effort and communication are valued
