🌊 Provocation Title: How Can We Tell a Story Without Using Words?

Big Idea: Music changes how we feel. Our feelings change how we move. Our movement can tell a story. Provocation Purpose: Explore how music affects mood, experiment with movement as storytelling, communicate ideas and emotions without words, take creative risks (Tū Māia 💛) How the Station Works: Students rotate in small groups (3-5), 10-15 minutes per rotation, one speaker with short music clips, prompt cards on table, optional iPad for recording Music → Mood → Movement Table Provocation Prompts: 1) Feel the Music - Listen to different music clips and describe how each one makes you feel 2) Move the Feeling - Express the emotion from the music through body movement and gestures 3) Freeze the Story - Create a frozen tableau that shows the story your movement tells 4) Change the Music, Change the Story - See how different music changes your movement story 5) Add a Disposition - Include Tū Māia (creative risk-taking) in your movement choices
