Telling Stories Through Sound Together
Year 5 Music Creating Sound Stories 30-minute lesson

What Makes a Story?
Every story has three parts: Beginning - sets the scene Middle - the main action or problem End - how it all resolves

How Can Sounds Tell Stories?
Think about sounds you hear every day What story could rain sounds tell? What about footsteps or animal sounds?

Form Your Sound Story Groups
Groups of 4-6 students Choose your story theme: • A storm arrives and passes • A day in the forest • A sneaky cat adventure Brainstorm sounds for beginning, middle, and end

Creating Your Sound Story
Use instruments and classroom objects Assign roles for different sounds Practice your beginning, middle, and end Think about timing and transitions Remember - no words, only sounds!

Performance Tips
{"left":"Start quietly to set the scene\nBuild up during the middle action\nUse different instruments for different characters","right":"End with a clear conclusion\nListen to each other while playing\nHave fun and be creative!"}
Time to Perform!
Each group performs their sound story Audience listens carefully After each performance, we'll discuss: • What story did you hear? • How did the sounds show beginning, middle, end? • What feelings did the music create?
