Objective- To develop pupils understanding of batting and fielding. Success ladder- I understand a fielders’ role in the game. I understand the batters’ role within the game. I can transfer my knowledge and skills of Rounders into a Lord’s Game of Kwik Cricket. Main teaching activities- -Warm up: Beep test -Discussion: What do we know about fielding vs batting from our previous Rounders Practice? -Batting practice: use of Cricket bat (plastic Kwik cricket), how do we thing the shape size will affect how we bat (in comparison to Rounders bat) How should we stand/ hold the bat? – Demo step through. -In groups (3+) x1 Bowler, x1, Batter, Fielder(s) practice and rotate roles within group. -Introduction of the Wicket: how it is used within the game, including counting ‘runs’. -Lord’s Game see appendix
