Art - Lesson 1 1 (artist double page) • To know that James DeRosso is a famous sculptor who uses form in his work. • To know that sculpture is the name sometimes given for artwork which exists in three dimensions. • Show images/videos of James DeRosso’s work. Explain that he is a sculptor. Discuss what he might use to make his pieces/how might he do it etc. • Create double page. Have artist’s name as title (draw bubble writing or print in large letters and then children can make the letters into monsters). Draw images of his monsters. Cut images of monsters in half and children to draw the other half. Add colour using pencils. Draw some big and some small. • Discuss form as being three dimensional. Get children to add the word ‘form’ to their double page. • Children to write 3 words on their double page to describe his work/how does it make them feel/what does it remind them of?
