The lesson introduction will start with the pupils copying the greatest commandment out. We will discuss love the lord and how we do that. We will discuss the concept of the greatest commandment linked to the Old Testament.
The lesson objective is for pupils to understand the New Testament and the Good Samaritan by the end of the lesson.
The development of the lesson will be discussing loving God, loving your neighbour and how Jesus has reduced the 10 commandments into the greatest commandment. As well as this, how Jesus tells us the story about the Good Samaritan parable.
By the end of this lesson, pupils will:
Task: Pupils copy out Matthew 22:36-40:
"‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’"
