This 45-minute session is designed for an individual adult learner at the intermediate stage of driver education. Detailed Guidance for Activities

Parallel Parking

Align vehicle parallel alongside the car in front with approximately 2 feet gap.
Reverse slowly while steering sharply towards the curb once rear wheel aligns with parked car’s rear bumper.
Straighten wheels after rear enters space, then steer the opposite way to align the car straight in the bay.
Use mirrors and shoulder checks throughout.
Stop 30cm from the curb; ensure vehicle is centred in space.

Bay Parking

Approach bay at safe speed, signal intention.
Position vehicle correctly before turning into the bay.
Use mirrors to judge distance from bay boundaries and other vehicles.
Park straight, fully within lines.
Check surroundings before exiting space.

Assessment Criteria

Accurate positioning and control of vehicle during manoeuvres.
Consistent use of mirrors, signals, and hazard perception.
Ability to articulate the process and safety considerations clearly.
Self-awareness and willingness to apply corrective feedback.
