- Display two versions of the same word document: One using Styles and Themes, the other without. (Printed copies or projected on screen).
- Ask students: "Which document looks more professional? Why?"
- Encourage discussion on the importance of consistency in documents.
- Introduce today’s learning focus: Using Styles and Themes to enhance documents.

- Guided Practice:
- Students open their own blank Word documents.

Assessment & Differentiation
Assessment Strategies
✅ Formative – Teacher observations during the "Guided Practice" and "Paired Challenge" activity.
✅ Summative – The final Formatting Race challenge demonstrates whether students can apply Styles and Themes effectively.
✅ Peer & Self-Assessment – Students review each other's formatted documents, providing constructive feedback.
Differentiation Strategies
💡 Support:
- Provide step-by-step handouts for students needing extra guidance.
- Assign a peer mentor to assist struggling students.
🔥 Challenge:
- Advanced students can create a complete document template with custom Styles and saved as a .dotx file.
Resources Required
