Overview

This 120-minute session is designed for an adult learner undertaking the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA). The focus aligns with the National Curriculum for England's expectations regarding vocational assessment, professional standards, and equality and diversity in assessment practice.

Peer review: If possible, simulate assessor-learner feedback conversation using voice recorder for reflection.

Consolidation and Reflection (15 minutes)

Guided reflective activity using a structured feedback form focussing on:

- How equality and diversity considerations can enhance assessment quality.
- Importance of accurate, meaningful records and feedback.

Formative assessment: Learner completes a short quiz or oral questioning covering:
- Key responsibilities of the assessor
- Elements of a valid and reliable assessment plan
- Equality and diversity principles applied to assessment
- Techniques for giving learner feedback
Teacher feedback: Immediate, constructive feedback provided with action points for further development.

National Curriculum Alignment
