What to Look for When Annotating
Language features: metaphors, similes, alliteration, word choice Structure: rhyme scheme, stanza breaks, line length Imagery: what pictures does the poem create? Tone and mood: how does the poem make you feel? Themes: what big ideas is the poet exploring?
