What Are Verbs and Nouns?
Verbs are action words - they tell us what someone DOES Nouns are naming words - they tell us what something IS Examples: RUN (verb) and BALL (noun) We need both types to make compound words!
What is a Compound Word?
A compound word is made when two words join together to make ONE new word with a new meaning!
Verb + Noun = Compound Word!
PLAY + GROUND = PLAYGROUND FLY + SWATTER = FLYSWATTER RAIN + COAT = RAINCOAT SUN + FLOWER = SUNFLOWER
