What Are Connectives?
Connectives are linking words that join ideas together to make our writing flow smoothly

Meet Our Four Key Connectives
BECAUSE → shows a reason (why something happened) SO → shows a result (what happened next) ALTHOUGH → shows contrast or surprise WHILE → shows things happening at the same time
Connectives in Action
George mixed the medicine → Grandma grew enormous Add 'because': Grandma grew enormous BECAUSE George mixed the medicine Add 'so': George mixed the medicine SO Grandma grew enormous Notice how the meaning stays the same but the focus changes!

Connective Functions Table
{"left":"BECAUSE - gives a reason - 'She screamed because it hurt'\nSO - shows a result - 'The medicine was strong so she grew'","right":"ALTHOUGH - shows contrast - 'Although she was old, she grew tall'\nWHILE - shows same time - 'She shouted while she stretched'"}
