Comparing Prices Per Item
Count how many items in each pack Divide the total price by number of items Example: 6 apples for £1.80 £1.80 ÷ 6 = 30p per apple

Some items are sold by weight Compare price per kilogram (kg) Example: Cheese A: 200g for £1.60 Cheese B: 500g for £3.50 Which is better value?
Solving the Cheese Problem
Cheese A: 200g for £1.60 200g = 0.2kg, so £1.60 ÷ 0.2 = £8.00 per kg Cheese B: 500g for £3.50 500g = 0.5kg, so £3.50 ÷ 0.5 = £7.00 per kg Cheese B is better value!

Drinks are often sold by volume Compare price per litre Small bottle: 330ml for 80p Large bottle: 1.5 litres for £2.10 Convert to same units first!
