Adding Money
Problem: You buy a sandwich for £2.45 and a drink for £1.30. How much do you spend? Step 1: Line up the decimal points Step 2: Add like normal numbers Answer: £2.45 + £1.30 = £3.75
Subtracting Money
Problem: You have £5.00 and buy a comic for £2.25. How much change do you get? Step 1: £5.00 - £2.25 Step 2: Line up decimal points Answer: £5.00 - £2.25 = £2.75
