Overview

• Greeting & Set the Stage: Begin by asking students, "What is your favorite invention?" Allow 1-2 students to share briefly.
• Explain the lesson focus: "Today, we will start a week of learning about inventions and how they have changed over time."

Activity 1: Quick Think-Pair-Share (2 minutes)

1. Instructions: Tell students they will think about one invention and discuss with a partner how they think it has changed.
2. Implementation:
   • Give them 30 seconds to think individually.
   • Pair them with a partner for 1 minute to share their thoughts.

Activity 2: Invention Evolution Brainstorm (1 minute)

• Group Brainstorm:
  • Write the word "Inventions" in the center of the chart paper.
  • Call on students to name one invention. Each time a student names an invention, draw lines from the center to their contributions, encouraging them to explain why it’s important.

Conclusion: Quick Reflection (1 minute)

• Sticky Note Activity: Hand out sticky notes. Ask each student to write one word that describes their feelings about inventions (e.g., "cool," "useful," "important").
• Closure: Collect the sticky notes on a board labeled “Inventions Matter” to visually represent student responses and feelings about the topic.
