Ask: “Was the whole clear?”, “Were the parts equal?”, and “Did the fraction match the story?” Support students to revise unclear problems rather than focusing on spelling.
38–45 minutes – Individual check and reflection Students complete the final section of the fraction word-problem planning sheet independently: draw or describe one fraction situation and write the fraction it represents. Invite students to complete the sentence, “My fraction means…” Review the success criteria and ask students to show one finger for “I need help”, two for “I am getting there” or three for “I can explain it”.
