In this sixth lesson of Collie River Animal Guardians, students investigate features that indicate river habitat health. Lesson structure (60 minutes)

  1. 0–7 min · Hook and purpose.   6. 52–60 min · Plenary and exit response. Teacher uses the reflection and exit prompt slide to revisit the WALT. Students complete the final response on the worksheet: “One sign of a healthy river habitat is ___ because I observed ___.” They add, “One concern is ___ because I observed ___.” Invite two or three students to share, then collect worksheets for assessment.
