Lesson structure (55 minutes)

  1. 0–5 min · Hook and prior knowledge. Teacher displays a photograph of a human body and asks, “How can one cell help an entire body stay alive?” using the hook and prior-knowledge slides.   2. 5–13 min · Explicit teaching.
