The Magic Doubling Rule
Short vowel + one consonant + ending = DOUBLE! Examples: hop → hopping run → running sit → sitting
Short Words vs Long Words
{"left":"Short words (3 letters): run, hop, sit, cut, win","right":"Long words (4+ letters): visit, open, listen, happen"}
Word Web: RUN Family
Start with 'run' Add endings: -ing, -er, -y running (double n) runner (double n) runny (double n)
Think and Discuss
