Lesson Procedure

Introduction (5 minutes)

1. Welcome & Introduction:

   • Greet students in Gaeilge: “Dia dhuit, a chairde!”
   • Introduce the theme: “Inniu, táimid ag foghlaim faoi Chroí Park agus focail atá ag baint leis!”

2. Engaging Hook:

   • Show an image of Croke Park and ask students what they know about it. Briefly encourage responses.

Vocabulary Presentation (10 minutes)

1. PowerPoint Presentation:

   • Display slides with target vocabulary. Introduce each word through images and context. Use the following terms:
     • ‘foireann’ (team)
     • ‘lucht tacaíochta’ (supporters)
     • ‘scórchlár’ (scoreboard)

2. Character Introduction:

   • Introduce Laura Liathróid, the mascot. Describe her role in the adventure of learning vocabulary. Use the character to create visual and contextual connections for each term.

Guided Practice (10 minutes)

1. Model Phrases:

   • Teach and model how to say ‘Is maith liom (something)’ and ‘Ní maith liom (something)’ by connecting it to the vocabulary:
     • Example: “Is maith liom an fhoireann” / “Ní maith liom an fhoireann.”

2. Pair Activity:
