📚 Read the Passage

Honey Bees: Nature's Helpers

Honey bees are some of the most important insects on Earth. These busy creatures do much more than just make honey. When bees fly from flower to flower looking for sweet nectar, they carry pollen on their fuzzy bodies. This helps plants make seeds and grow new plants. Without bees, we wouldn't have many of the fruits and vegetables we eat every day, like apples, almonds, and blueberries. Farmers depend on bees to help their crops grow. One bee colony can pollinate millions of flowers in just one day! Sadly, bee populations are shrinking because of pollution and habitat loss. People are working hard to protect these amazing insects because they are so important to our food supply and the environment.
