i want an art lesson on this: we started with a wavy line frame. Then used wavy loop lines to divide the space into sections. Used marker to make line patterns and colored over the marker with 🖍️ crayons.
Used to do something similar years ago but after the walking line filled up the paper they would add a geometric shape in the middle. Inside the shape they would add designs in the small shapes and color them with warm colors. Surrounding the geometric shape, they would color using cool colors. I did this with HS students and they loved it! It’s so calming to do.
This lesson focuses on pattern creation, line repetition, and experimenting with warm and cool colours. It aligns with Year 6 Visual Arts objectives in the CA curriculum, emphasising exploration of the Elements of Art (line, shape, and colour) and experimentation within a structured framework. The process combines mindfulness, creativity, and skill-building, offering a calming yet engaging activity.
