Objectives

1. Students will be able to identify and write numbers and their corresponding word names from 0 to 100.

Lesson Steps

Introduction (5 minutes)

1. Greeting and Overview: Welcome students and provide a brief overview of the day's lesson.
2. Engage the Students: Start with a quick question to the class: "How many numbers can you count from 0 to 100?" Write down some numbers on the whiteboard.

Direct Instruction (10 minutes)

1. Number Chart Discussion: Display a large number-word chart that lists numbers alongside their word names from 0-100.
2. Number and Word Names Review: Discuss the spelling and pronunciation of select numbers focusing on 0-10, major increments (e.g., 20, 30, 40), and tricky numbers (e.g., 11, 12, 50).
3. Interactive Practice: Use flashcards to randomly show numbers from 0-100. Ask students to say and spell the word name.

Guided Practice (10 minutes)

1. Bingo Game: Distribute number and word name bingo cards. Call out either numbers or word names; students cover the corresponding spot on their bingo card. Winner must shout “Bingo!” and read out their covered spots with correct number-word names.

Independent Practice (5 minutes)

1. Worksheet Activity: Hand out worksheets that require students to match numbers with their word names and write word names for given numbers.
2. Monitor and Assist: Teacher walks around to offer help and check for understanding.

Closing (5 minutes)

1. Review and Recap: Briefly review the day's lesson by asking students to share one new number word they found interesting or tricky.
2. Exit Ticket: Ask each student to write down any number between 0-100 along with its word name and hand it to the teacher as they leave.
