Lesson structure (90 minutes)

  1. 0–8 min · Hook and question. Teacher opens with the hook and investigation question and shows red cabbage indicator alongside the four test substances. Students predict which samples will change colour and record one reason for their prediction in pairs.

What evidence supports your answer?” Collect worksheets and supervise careful disposal, bench cleaning and handwashing.
