create four 40 minute lesson plans that focus on art but also integrate science with a focus on materials. I want to read the Maori legend about how Maui fished up the north island with a hook. we will then create a fish using a piece of cut out cardboard (this will be done by teachers in advance). The fish shape will have grooves cut out around the edge. students will use wool the wrap around the outside of the cardboard cut out. they will then cover the fish in pva glue and cover the fish in tinfoil. this will be day 2, day one will be reading the myth. day three students will use a sharpie/permanent marker to colour the sections /grooves between the wool. day four students will decorate and attach the fins. the first lesson should introduce the myth about Maui and talk about materials, specifically materials used in art. please keep short and concise
