Lesson Objective

Students will improve their handwriting skills by practising proper letter formation and spacing. They will write a short paragraph about their favourite animal.

Lesson Outline (20 minutes)

1. Introduction (2 minutes)

   • Quick discussion on the importance of good handwriting.
   • Show the chart of proper letter formation and quickly walk through it.

2. Teacher Model (3 minutes)

   • Write a short paragraph about a favourite animal on the board, demonstrating neat handwriting.
   • Highlight the focus on proper letter formation and spacing between words.

3. Guided Practice (5 minutes)

   • Hand out lined paper.
   • Ask students to copy the same paragraph from the board onto their paper.
   • Circulate around the room to provide immediate feedback and support.

4. Independent Practice (7 minutes)

   • Students write a short paragraph about their own favourite animal, focusing on neat handwriting.
   • Encourage them to use the best handwriting possible and refer to the chart for any tricky letters.

5. Review and Conclusion (3 minutes)

   • Pick a few students to share their paragraphs with the class.
   • Provide positive feedback and highlight specific good practices observed.
   • Reinforce the importance of practising handwriting daily.
