They record examples of movement, approximate speed using words such as slow or fast, distance using steps or a tape measure where appropriate, and stability using observations such as steady, wobbly or balanced. 30–37 minutes – Evidence-sharing circle. Bring students together in a safe meeting area and show the evidence-sharing prompts. 37–42 minutes – Individual design connection. Students complete the final section of the playground evidence log: “The most useful evidence for our design is…” and “We should consider…” Encourage labelled sketches or oral responses recorded by an adult or peer. Students check that their evidence is based on what they actually observed.
42–45 minutes – Plenary and pack-up. Use the reflection and return-to-school slide. Ask students to share one force, movement feature or surface observation they will use in the next design lesson. Check that all equipment and worksheets are collected, then return safely to class.
