Lesson structure (13 minutes)

  1. 0–2 min · Hook and notice. Teacher opens with the hook and learning intention slides and displays 0.4, asking, “Which is greater: 0.4, 4/10 or 40%? How do you know?” Students silently choose an answer, then share their reasoning with a partner.

Teacher collects responses to identify who needs further support.
