Introduction (5 Minutes)

1. Warm-Up Activity:
   Engage students with a simple warm-up to get their bodies moving. Lead a quick game of "Simon Says", focusing on movements like stretching arms, bending knees, and jumping. This will increase blood circulation and prepare their muscles for physical activity.

2. Discuss Objective:
   Briefly explain the goal of the lesson: to practice and improve throwing and catching skills. Emphasize how these skills are not only fun but also crucial for playing various sports.

Main Activity (20 Minutes)

Station Activities (10 Minutes)

Divide the students into small groups and rotate them through stations every 2 minutes. Ensure every student experiences each station.

1. Station 1: Throw & Clap

   • Students throw the ball into the air, clap once, and catch it. For an advanced challenge, increase the number of claps.

2. Station 2: Partner Throw & Catch

   • Pair students to stand a safe distance apart. Have them practise throwing and catching with their partner. Encourage underarm throws to improve accuracy.

3. Station 3: Target Throw

   • Set up cones or place hula hoops on the ground at varying distances. Students take turns attempting to throw the ball into the hoops to score points.

4. Station 4: Bounce and Catch

   • Students take turns bouncing the ball on the ground and catching it. Challenge them by seeing how many they can do in a row without dropping the ball.

Team Game: Catch the Beanbag (10 Minutes)

1. Set-Up
   Divide the class into two equal teams. Mark a boundary line using cones to separate the teams. Place several hula hoops on each side as "safety zones."

2. Game Rules

   • Each student is given a small sponge ball (or beanbag).
   • The objective is to throw their ball into the opposing team's safety zones.
   • If a player catches the ball on the full, they score a point for their team.
   • Encourage fast, controlled movements, and remind students of the importance of teamwork and communication.

3. Learning Reinforcement
   After the game, gather the students and discuss what strategies helped them succeed. Highlight the importance of accuracy and cooperation.

Cool Down and Reflection (5 Minutes)

1. Slow Walking and Breathing
   Lead the students in walking slowly around the hall or outdoor area, focusing on deep breaths to lower their heart rate.

2. Stretching Routine
   Guide students through a gentle stretching routine, focusing on arms, shoulders, and wrists to relax the muscles used in the lesson.

3. Reflection and Feedback
   Encourage students to share what they enjoyed and learned during the lesson. Ask them how they could use these skills in other sports and activities.

Assessment

• Observe students’ ability to throw and catch with control and coordination.
• Monitor teamwork and communication during activities and games.
• Offer constructive feedback and praise to boost confidence and motivation.

Differentiation

• For more able students: Introduce challenges such as increasing the distance between partners, or using a smaller ball to enhance difficulty.

• For less able students: Allow them to stand closer to their partner or use larger, softer balls to make catching easier.
