Lesson Breakdown

1. Starter Activity (10 minutes)

Welcome and Introduction

• Teacher: Welcome students warmly in Spanish: "¡Hola! ¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español!"
• Students: Respond with "¡Hola!"
• Teacher: Briefly introduce the objectives of the lesson in English.

Ice Breaker – Greeting

• Activity: Teacher uses flashcards to teach basic greetings: "Hola" (Hello), "Buenos días" (Good morning), "Buenas tardes" (Good afternoon), "Adiós" (Goodbye).
• Pair Activity: Students practice greeting each other using the new vocabulary.

2. Main Activity (25 minutes)

Learning Objectives 1: Introductions

• Teacher: Introduce the structure "Me llamo..." (My name is...) and "¿Cómo te llamas?" (What is your name?).
• Activity: Go around the room with a ball or soft object. Throw it to a student who then says: "Me llamo..." and tosses it to another student while asking, "¿Cómo te llamas?".

• Teacher: Display numbers 1-10 on the whiteboard. Use flashcards to show both numeral and written form.
• Choral Response: Students repeat after the teacher as each number is pronounced.
