1. Introduction (5 minutes)

Explanation: Introduce the concept of nouns in an interactive manner. Begin by writing the word 'Nouns' on the whiteboard and circle it.

Questions to Engage:

• "Who can tell me what a noun is?"
• "Can you give me some examples of nouns?"

Activity: Write a few students' names, objects in the classroom, and places on the whiteboard as they give examples.

Outcome: Students will recall prior knowledge and set the stage for the lesson.

2. Direct Teaching (10 minutes)

Explanation: Explain that nouns are words that name people, places, things, or animals. Use visual aids such as printed cards for each category.

Category Brief:

• People: Teacher, student, doctor, etc.
• Places: School, park, city, etc.
• Things: Book, pencil, computer, etc.
• Animals: Dog, cat, elephant, etc.

Interactive Activity: Hold up each card and ask the students to categorize them out loud. Place the cards under the correct category headings on the board.

3. Guided Practice (10 minutes)
