📖 Part 1: Understanding Women's Lives

Before 1918, women in Britain could not vote and lived very different lives from today.

When women married, they lost the right to own property like houses or money.

Women earned much less than men and were expected to stay at home to look after their children.

Only men could make important decisions about how the country was run. This meant women had no say in laws that affected their daily lives.
