Outstanding (A): I can clearly explain how people are connected to many different places. I use lots of examples and details.

High (B): I can explain how people are connected to places. I use some examples.

Expected (C): I can tell you that people are connected to places. I can give one example.

Basic (D): I know that people live in places. I need help to explain connections.

Limited (E): I am still learning about how people and places are connected.

Outstanding (A): I can name many different groups people belong to (family, school, sports, community). I explain why these groups are important.

High (B): I can name different groups people belong to. I can say why some groups are important.

Expected (C): I can name some groups people belong to like family and school.

Basic (D): I can name one or two groups people belong to with help.

Limited (E): I am learning about the groups people belong to.

Outstanding (A): I can describe many features of places (buildings, parks, shops, roads). I use descriptive words.

High (B): I can describe several features of places using some descriptive words.
