Polar Bears

Polar bears live in the cold Arctic. They have white fur to help them hide in the snow. Polar bears are very big and strong. They eat seals and fish. Baby polar bears are called cubs. Polar bears are in danger because ice is melting.

Penguins

Penguins live in cold places like Antarctica. They have black and white feathers. Penguins cannot fly, but they are great swimmers. They eat fish and krill. Baby penguins are called chicks. Some penguins are in danger because of climate change.

Polar Bears

Polar bears inhabit the frigid Arctic regions, where temperatures can plummet to -40°C. Their magnificent white fur provides excellent camouflage against the snow and ice. These apex predators primarily hunt seals through breathing holes in sea ice. Female polar bears give birth to cubs in underground dens during winter. Unfortunately, these majestic creatures face extinction due to rapidly diminishing sea ice caused by global warming.

Penguins

Penguins are flightless aquatic birds predominantly found in the Southern Hemisphere, particularly Antarctica. Their distinctive black and white plumage serves as countershading camouflage whilst swimming. These remarkable birds are superbly adapted for marine life, diving to depths exceeding 500 metres to hunt fish, squid, and krill. Emperor penguin chicks endure harsh Antarctic winters, whilst their parents take turns incubating eggs. Several penguin species are threatened by climate change, overfishing, and habitat destruction.
