The Story:

Once upon a time, a speedy hare lived in a sunny meadow. The hare was very proud of how fast he could run.

One day, the hare met a slow tortoise on the dusty path. "I am the fastest animal in the whole meadow!" bragged the hare. "You are so slow!"

The wise tortoise smiled calmly. "Would you like to race me to the big oak tree?" he asked.

The hare laughed loudly. "This will be easy!" he said. The race began on the grassy field.

The hare zoomed ahead quickly, leaving the tortoise far behind. Feeling confident, the hare decided to take a nap under a shady tree.

Meanwhile, the tortoise kept moving slowly but steadily along the path. Step by step, he passed the sleeping hare.

When the hare woke up, he saw the tortoise near the finish line! The hare ran as fast as he could, but it was too late. The tortoise won the race!

"Slow and steady wins the race," said the tortoise kindly.
