The Mystery of the Missing Lunch

Every Tuesday, Mrs Chen packed her famous lamingtons for the school staff room. The coconut-covered sponge cakes were legendary amongst the teachers at Riverside Primary School. But this Tuesday was different.

When Mrs Chen arrived at 8:00 AM sharp, she placed the container of twelve perfectly square lamingtons on the blue table near the window. The sweet aroma of chocolate and coconut filled the room. She smiled, knowing her colleagues would be delighted.

However, when lunchtime arrived, only six lamingtons remained! Mrs Chen was puzzled. She noticed crumbs scattered across the floor and a small muddy pawprint on the table. Through the open window, she spotted Buster, the school's friendly golden retriever, sleeping peacefully under the jacaranda tree with chocolate around his whiskers.

"Mystery solved!" chuckled Mrs Chen, as she watched Buster's tail wag in his dreams.
