Some people think zoos are good places to see animals, but I think we should not keep animals at the zoo. There are three important reasons why animals should stay in the wild.

The first reason is that animals need space to run and play. In the zoo, a tiger has a small area to walk around. In nature, tigers can run for many kilometres. They can hunt and swim in rivers. At the zoo, the tiger sits in a pen all day and feels sad.

The second reason is that animals need to live with their families. In Africa, elephants live in big groups with their mothers, sisters, and children. They play together and take care of each other. At the zoo, an elephant might live alone or with only one other elephant. This makes them feel lonely.

The third reason is that animals need to act naturally. A monkey should swing in tall trees and look for food. At the zoo, people give the monkey food in a pot. The monkey cannot use its natural skills. It becomes bored and unhappy.

In conclusion, animals are happier in nature than at the zoo. They need space, family, and the chance to act naturally. We can see animals in nature programmes on television instead of visiting zoos.
