12 March Dear Aunty Hana, I wish you could have joined our walk in the bush near Rotorua! We set off just after breakfast, with raincoats packed in our bags. At first, the track was wide and muddy. Then it narrowed beside a stream that rushed over the rocks. Suddenly, we heard a loud splash. A kererū flapped out of a tree, and we spotted its nest high above us. After that, our guide showed us how to cross the stream safely over a sturdy bridge. The water below looked as silver as a ribbon. Finally, we reached a sunny clearing and ate our sandwiches while listening to tūī calls. I felt tired but proud when we got back. Next time, I hope you can come too! Love, Maia

9.Write a letter to a relative or friend about your planned adventure. Include a date, greeting, opening, events in time order, descriptive detail, a closing and your name. Use at least two time connectives.
