Read About All Saints Day

All Saints Day is celebrated on 1st November every year. Because early Christians wanted to honour all holy people, they created this special day. Many saints had performed miracles or helped others during their lives. As a result, people wanted to remember them together on one day.

In New Zealand, some churches hold special services on All Saints Day. Since it's springtime here in November, many churches decorate with fresh flowers. Children often learn about saints who helped others. Therefore, this day teaches us about kindness and helping people in our community.

Some families light candles because they want to remember loved ones who have died. Consequently, All Saints Day becomes a time for both celebration and remembrance.
