A descriptive paragraph has three main parts:

• Topic sentence: Introduces what you are describing

• Detail sentences: Give specific details using descriptive words

• Concluding sentence: Wraps up your description with a final thought

The old oak tree in our school playground is truly magnificent. Its thick, brown trunk is covered in rough bark that feels like sandpaper under your fingertips. The enormous branches stretch out like giant arms, creating cool shadows on the ground below. During autumn, the leaves turn brilliant shades of gold and orange, dancing gently in the breeze. This ancient tree is definitely the most beautiful feature of our school grounds.
