Saving Kiwi Creek

Emma and her class discovered that Kiwi Creek near their school was polluted with rubbish and dirty water. The fish were disappearing, and the birds couldn't find clean water to drink. Their teacher explained that pollution was harming the creek's habitat - the natural home where plants and animals live.

The students decided to help with conservation efforts to protect their local environment. They organised a clean-up day where families came to collect rubbish. They also learned to recycle plastic bottles and cans instead of throwing them away.

After three months of hard work, Kiwi Creek was sparkling clean again. The native fish returned, and tui birds came back to drink from the fresh water. Emma felt proud that her class had made a real difference to their community.
